Important event information

Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.  

Be aware that the Moore Park precinct will be busy as thousands of people travel to the SCG for an AFL match in the evening. 

Train and Metro services run regularly to the City where you can connect with frequent light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park light rail stop is located a short walk across from The Entertainment Quarter. Plenty of regular route buses also make stops on Oxford St and Anzac Parade within walking distance.  

If you have to drive, travel with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time. Parking is available near at The Entertainment Quarter multi storey car park, entry Errol Flynn Boulevard off Lang Road.  

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and arrive early to secure a parking space. Traffic will be heavier than usual as attendees travel to the event. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.   

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.

The closest stations to the Entertainment Quarter are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central catch a light rail service to Moore Park from Chalmers Street.

From Bondi Junction catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the precinct.

Trackwork

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 14 March on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction 

Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network and may affect how you travel. For the latest information, check trackwork service updates or use the Trip Planner.

A number of regular Sydney Buses services stop along Anzac Parade near the precinct including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396.

From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road, which is within short walking distance of the Entertainment Quarter.

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay and change for a light rail service to Moore Park on the L2 and L3 lines.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.  

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Town Hall and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Town Hall and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street) on Friday 21 November. Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade across from the Entertainment Quarter.

Be aware that the Moore Park precinct will be busy as thousands of people travel to the SCG for an AFL match in the evening. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the precinct. Consider walking if able to (approximately 25-minutes) as light rail services will be busy. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade across from the Entertainment Quarter.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Trams are running between the CBD and South East so pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution around the tram tracks and cross at designated pedestrian crossings.

Changed traffic conditions 

  • Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the SCG from 4pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area.   
  • No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue. Drop off areas will be maintained in the north and south ends of Driver Ave from Moore Park Rd and Lang Rd.

Entertainment Quarter Parking

Parking is available at The Entertainment Quarter multi storey car park, entry Errol Flynn Boulevard off Lang Road.

Special Event Clearways  

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 3pm to midnight on sections of Albion Street, Moore Park Road, Fitzroy Street and Lang Road, and from 6am to midnight on sections of and Cleveland Street.   

From 6am to midnight 

  • Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
  • Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side)  

From 3pm to midnight 

  • Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides)  
  • Lang Road between Anzac Parade and Errol Flynn Boulevard (northern side)   
  • Moore Park Road between Flinders Street and Greens Road (northern side)    
  • Moore Park Road between Cook Road and Poate Road (southern side)  
  • Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
